Things You Should Know

1 – We do not have parking on site as we are the closest hotel to beach with restricted road access. Lulworth Estate car park is a 3-5 minute walk from us and runs off the JustPark application.
2- The signal & wifi in Lulworth is a little shoddy. We have strong wifi in the main building.
3- If you hold perfection over character, we aren’t the Guest House for you.
4- Lulworth Cove is a sleepy, relaxing town during times of inclement weather. During the hot periods Lulworth and Rudds is busy. If you’re looking for a place of serenity you may be best booking further out of the Cove.
5 – The garden & swimming pool are open to non residents.
Rudds Guest House is run by the Rudds family, close friends and four legged companions. We pride ourselves on giving every guest a unique experience and the personal touch that only a family run business can provide. Keep reading to get the low down before you arrive.
Philip Rudd
Owner
Probably the one biggest characters you will ever meet. His extravagance and arty taste has furnished Rudds Guest House to be very unique. Rudds has been in his family for over 90 years. Born in the top room and has decided he will die there too.
Liesl Rudd
Owner
Originally from Essex, Liesl is the hostess with the mostest and possesses the patience of a saint (married to Philip). She shares her time between Rudds Guest House and her successful restaurant in Wareham, Le Petit Vin.
Richard Rudd
London Manager
Richard, formally known as Mr Fabulous, now runs Rudds Blackfriars in the City of London. We miss him dearly down here.
Cordelia/Cord
Head of Good Behaviour
Cords been with us for years now, but will be going onto bigger and better things soon enough. For now, she is stuck with us, keeping the boys in line.
Travis/Trav
Head of Good Chat
We shipped Travis from Essex and we don’t plan on giving him back any time soon. If you need someone to have a laugh with, he’s your man.
Maisie
Head of security
Maisie is a shy, quiet little lady. Unless of course you’re a post man, then she will be on high alert. Often found sunbathing outside the main bar.
Kit the Cat
Head of pest control
Kit is 6 years old and very friendly (when she chooses to be). Can often be found in a bush hunting or in her chair by reception.
If you’re allergic, probably best not to stay with us.
